Shepherd, Sarah H.

Sarah H. Shepherd is the archivist at the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library in Lexington, Massachusetts. At the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, she works with Freemasonry and fraternal records focusing especially on Black and women organizations. Her research as a historian revolves around queer gender expression, sexuality, and community belonging in early modern West Virginia. As an archivist, she works to expand access and equity in archives. Shepherd earned a B.A. in History and Anthropology from Goucher College in 2018 and a M.S. in Library Science and M.A. in History from Simmons University in 2023. Her research has been supported by a VCU Publishing Research Award.
